Who owns Tennessee? The citizens, the state government, try the federal government. This year's 32.6 billion dollar budget that was recently passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate is controlled by the federal government to the tune of >44%. It is time that Tennesseans realize that Washington wants to control all state governments and people by their money. You may say that this is okay because it is taxpayer money, but I will say that if you play with a venomous snake then eventually it will kill you. Federal benevolence, outside Article One Section Eight of the Constitution, is unconstitutional and should be deemed as poison for any state government that accepts it. As your Governor, I will begin the move away from federal control over our state budget.
